Hockey for Health 3 on 3
This FUNdraising charity tournament is open to Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam and Open divisions, boys and girls! Hockey for Health 3 on 3 is unique in that it’s not the team that wins the most games that is crowned the ‘champion’, it’s the team that raises the most money. Teams sell raffle tickets, collect pledges and come up with other fun ways to raise money. Each team is given a “Fundraising Invoice” at the end of their games where they are charged $5 for every goal they scored! This year’s proceeds will go towards the $1 million CT Scan Renewal Project; bringing new CT technology to your community.
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation is the lifeline between your community and your hospital. LWDHF raises the funds necessary to purchase new, state of the art medical equipment like the CT Scanner. The current CT is 12 years old and parts are no longer manufactured for repairs. This means that should something need replacing on the CT and parts cannot be located, your hospital would lose the ability to perform essential CT scanning. Over 4,300 scans were performed last year for diagnoses and treatment of things such as strokes, internal trauma, cancer, blood clots and head injuries.
