Cuddle Cots: The Gift of Time
The Cuddle Cot: A Gift of Time project was started by Marquee Miller-Roussin, in memory of her baby boy Lennox, who was stillborn on October 8, 2015. As part of her healing process, Marquee wanted to be able to give the gift of time to other families who have experienced infant loss.
A Cuddle Cot is an in-room cooling unit disguised inside of a bassinet that will protect an infant’s body by keeping it cold. This gift of time allows families precious hours for bonding, pictures, and to allow other family members to come and meet the baby before the natural changes that occur in death become more apparent.
Having a Cuddle Cot available at LWDH will allow families extra time they need to say good-bye. Marquee started her quest in hopes of purchasing a Cuddle Cot for Dryden. The outpouring of support received allowed her to give the gift of time to not only Dryden, but Sioux Lookout as well. Marquee needs your support to help bring a Cuddle Cot to Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Please make your donation today.
