Mission
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation is dedicated to fundraising in partnership with our community to meet the medical equipment and facility needs of Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Did you know?
90% of the Capital Equipment at LWDH has been funded by community dollars. Your support helps us keep care close to home.
As the Beyond The Scan Campaign approaches its final month, the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation is delighted and grateful for the tremendous support received from our community and region. Since the campaign was launched on February 12th, the generosity shown by our donors has been nothing short of transformational. Thanks to their support, we’re one step closer to bringing Kenora’s first MRI, a new CT scanner, advanced mammography equipment and more to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation is proud to announce a leadership gift of $500,000 towards the Beyond the Scan Campaign from Bryce and Nicki Douglas. Their extraordinary support, pledged in the late summer during the campaign’s early planning stages, exemplifies visionary leadership and a deep commitment to transforming diagnostic imaging services at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH).
Jan and Doug’s extraordinary generosity shines through in their annual donation of $50,000, which they have pledged to renew for the next four years. Their remarkable $250,000 commitment to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation will directly impact patient care by funding cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, including advanced Mammography technology, along with a new CT Scanner and Kenora’s first-ever MRI. This gift will not only elevate diagnostic capabilities, but will also profoundly enhance the quality of care at LWDH, allowing for earlier, more accurate diagnoses.

As a significant local employer and community supporter, Weyerhaeuser has always answered the call when the Lake of the Woods District Hospital needs support – and things are no different with the LWDH Foundation’s Beyond The Scan campaign. One key component of the campaign is Northwestern Ontario’s first MRI machine, right here at LWDH, and Weyerhaeuser is donating more than $125,000 through their Community Grant Program to help get it done.
