Marc was born and raised in Keewatin and, despite leaving the area for work and school for 11 years, made his way back to Kenora in 2000. Marc is a well-known entrepreneur in Kenora and is involved in local business and economic development organizations. Like many people, he finds ‘The Lake’ to be a special place – particularly because of the strong sense of community. He says, “I always look forward to Spring when I start seeing camps/cottages’ lights turn on.” He and his wife Lana have two children and they enjoy hiking, snowmobiling, skiing and anything to do with lake time.
As a member of the LWDH Foundation’s Board of Directors for 10 years, he’s seen the difference fundraising has made to healthcare in NW Ontario and joined the Beyond The Scan Campaign Cabinet as he believed he could help make MRI a reality in Kenora. He’s known many people, including his wife, who’ve needed to make the trip to Thunder Bay for an MRI. He’s experienced the worry about driving, especially for a 2 AM appointment. As he says, “Take a look around your dinner table and if someone at it doesn’t need the MRI, someone one degree from them will need it and it will save lives.”
