24th Annual OPP Cst. Marv Forsythe Memorial Golf Tournament raises $7,000 to support enhanced patient care close to home
August 15, 2025
27 teams attended the 24th Annual OPP Marv Forsythe Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday Aug. 15, enjoying friendly competition, a steak supper, and great company, all in memory of OPP Constable Marv Forsythe who passed away from cancer in 2018. Organizer Dennis O’Sullivan was pleased with the day’s success: “It was a great event with the day running smoothly!” The winning team was Tyler Kinger, Jay Hansen, Matt Krolyk, and Jed Rattai.
Marv Forsythe’s wife, Dianne, oversaw the putting competition. Although her own sons could not attend, she expressed her appreciation for the strong turnout, saying, “I’m happy so many golfers were able to come today!”
Since its start, the tournament has raised over $50,500 for local charities, with Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation receiving funds multiple times over the years. 🩺Dennis presented proceeds of $7,000, to be directed to Chemotherapy Services at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, improving cancer care close to home.
We send our heartfelt thanks to the O’Sullivans, golfers, sponsors & volunteers for making this community event such a success. Your commitment to healthcare in our community is making a difference at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, now and in the future!
