The Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) Foundation is proud to celebrate another extraordinary year of community generosity following the 6th Annual Par 3 Charity Challenge, driven by The Dingwall Group, held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Kenora Golf & Country Club.
What began as a unique community golf tournament has quickly become one of the Foundation’s signature fundraising events, bringing together local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers who share a common goal: ensuring patients in our region have access to exceptional healthcare close to home.
This year’s tournament raised an incredible $203,822, pushing the event’s six-year fundraising total to more than $1,056,000 in support of vital medical equipment at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
“This tournament continues to exceed every expectation,” said Mira Trebilcock, Executive Director of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation. “Reaching more than one million dollars raised in just six years is an incredible milestone and a testament to what our community can accomplish when we come together. Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, donor, and supporter has played a role in strengthening healthcare for families across our region.”
“When we launched this tournament six years ago, we knew it had the potential to make a difference, but surpassing one million dollars raised is beyond what we could have imagined,” said Laci Dingwall, Foundation Board Member, tournament organizer and Title Sponsor through The Dingwall Group. “This milestone belongs to our entire community. Year after year, our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and partners continue to show up with incredible generosity, and together we’re helping ensure our hospital has the equipment needed to provide exceptional care close to home.”
That community support has translated into lasting impact. Over the past six years, proceeds from the Par 3 Charity Challenge, driven by The Dingwall Group have helped fund numerous pieces of essential medical equipment throughout the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, including a fetal heart monitor for the Maternity Unit, a digital mobile X-ray machine for Diagnostic Imaging, 15 stretchers for the Emergency Department, significant support toward the purchase of an advanced mammography unit, and two anesthesia machines for Surgical Services.
Funds raised through this year’s tournament will support the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for the Diagnostic Imaging Department; enhancing diagnostic imaging capabilities and helping provide timely care for patients throughout Northwestern Ontario.
This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of The Dingwall Group, whose leadership as Title Sponsor has helped grow the Par 3 Charity Challenge, driven by The Dingwall Group, into the event it is today. The Foundation also extends its sincere gratitude to more than 70 event sponsors, prize sponsors, raffle donors, volunteers, and the 144 golfers whose generosity and enthusiasm made this year’s event another tremendous success.
The Foundation would also like to recognize the outstanding team at the Kenora Golf & Country Club. Following Monday’s severe storm, staff worked tirelessly to clear debris, restore the course, and ensure it was in exceptional condition for tournament day. Their hours of work behind the scenes ensured the tournament could proceed seamlessly and are a true reflection of the spirit of partnership that makes this event so successful.
As the tournament celebrates six remarkable years of impact, the Foundation looks forward to continuing to drive healthcare forward—one swing at a time.
